At August 5, 2008 when our practical work’s team went to the Kuta’s Pumping Station to followed Pumping’s training, We got something there. It was happening after We heard adzan’s voice and then We went to the Masjid Rahmat (the central masjid in Kuta, Bali) to pray dzuhur. We looked at the wall of Masjid, there is a writing…” No Entry for Non Mosleem!”. Suddenly, I wanna asked my self. Is that statement right??? Where’s the hujjah writing on???
Finally, I got the answer from al-Lajnah ad-Daa’imah Lil-Buhooth al-‘Ilmiyyah wal-Iftaa. The committee for Islam Research and Fataawa. I hope this Fataawa is gonna help us to get the answer about the question above.
Recently, al-Lajnah ad-Daa’imah Lil-Buhooth al-‘Ilmiyyah wal-Iftaa was asked,” What is the ruling on non-Muslims entering the masjid?”
Then they answered…
“For other masaajid in the world, some of the fuqahaa have said that it is permissible due to the absence of any evidence to prohibit it, while others said that it is not permissible, making qiyaas with al-Masjid al-Haraam.
The correct position is that it is permissible when it has a shar’ee benefit, or there is a need for it, like the non-Mosleem hearing something that may lead him to enter into Islam, since the Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam tied up Thumaamah ibn Athaal al-Hanafy in the masjid before he accepted Islaam, and the delegation from Thaqeef and one from the Christians of Najraan came to the masjid before they accepted Islaam, due to the numerous benefits in that, like their hearing the addresses of the Prophet Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and his admonitions, their witnessing the people praying and reading (Al Quran), and other great benefits that do not reach someone who does not keep to the masjid.
And with Allaah is the success, and may Allaah’s Salaah and Salaam be upon our Prophet, and upon his family and Companions.”
Certainly, the statement or wall’s writing at Masjid Rahmat Kuta, Bali is not Syar’ee and doesn’t suitable with Islamic Rules…
